Tongwynlais band in concert Celebrating Wales and 80 years of Christian Aid
The event will be held on the 1st of March, the traditional date of celebrating Wales’ Patron Saint, and commences at 7:30pm.
The concert, which follows the successful Christmas event held in 2023, is part of the continued efforts of the band to perform within its local community and to support other charities at work in Wales.
Band Chair, Andy Robins said, “We are proud to be at the cathedral in the capital city of Wales on such an important occasion. The event is part of our ongoing partnership with Christian Aid Wales, and with other local community groups and charities. The concert will feature music from Wales and provides a wonderful setting in which to showcase some of the music we will be taking to Japan as part of our tour at Easter.”
The concert is part of Christian Aid’s celebration of the unstoppable power of hope and is generously hosted by the Bishop of Llandaff, the Right Reverend Mary Stallard.
Admission is free and there will be a retiring collection in aid of the work of the charity.
The Tongwynlais Temperance Band is a registered charity 1117861 and Christian Aid is a worldwide development charity 1105851 which works to end poverty and social injustice.
The band is once again looking forward to performing in the majestic surroudings of Cardiff's Llandaff Cathedral. In joining with Cor Caerdydd, and pupils of Llandaff City Primary School, the band will be celebrating St David’s Day in an event arranged by and in support of Christian Aid.
